A Poem by Fran Fernández Arce

Genesis

after Kei Miller

Let the bramble grow anew. Let the gaps
in the landscape converge in new roots.

Let the roses become more than roses,
smell like hog roasts, earthly, caramelised delights.

Let the roots air themselves under the sun
and moonlight and whatever floats in between
this earth and the sky.
